Bacara Santa Barbara

Use this search box to quickly find the information you’re looking for.

Bacara Santa Barbara sits on a scenic bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, just 12 miles northwest of Santa Barbara, California. If you’re looking for a luxury spa resort, this is the place for you.

Bacara Resort & Spa feels like an intimate Mediterranean village. The exclusive luxury resort occupies 78 lush acres which includes a 2-mile stretch of beach.

Note: The beach at Bacara is, admittedly, NOT the nicest one in Santa Barbara County. It’s very rocky and driftwood tends to collect here.

As with all Santa Barbara beaches, the amount of sand here varies throughout the year. Sometimes after a storm or at high tide, there’s no sand here at all.

Don’t let the condition of the beach stop you from visiting Bacara Santa Barbara, though. Bacara Resort & Spa has MUCH more to offer than a walk on the beach.

Even Santa Barbara locals come to the Spa at Bacara when they need first-class pampering. Download a Menu of Services to see what they have to offer.

Complimentary yoga and fitness classes are offered daily. The fitness facility is open to resort guests 16 years or older when accompanied by an adult.

For reservations, call 877-422-4245 or 805-968-0100.

The Restaurants

Guests will find three distinctly different restaurants. Each has a personality all its own. All have access to a world-class wine cellar.

  • Miro serves organic Basque-Catalonian cuisine. A 5-star dining experience!
  • The Bistro serves Mediterranean and Continental cuisine. On Sunday mornings, The Bistro serves a breakfast buffet.
  • Spa Cafe features healthy, low-fat, organic and sugarfree dishes. Dine indoors or al fresco overlooking the pool.

The Ranch at Bacara

The Ranch at Bacara has been an agricultural treasure since the 1920s. This 1000-acre Ranch includes a 10-acre organic vegetable and herb garden, which supplies Bacara restaurants with fresh-picked produce daily.

There are also exotic fruit orchards here producing avocados, lemons, pomegranates, persimmons and pomellos.

Guests at Bacara used to have access to this exclusive property for hikes & picnics. In July 2011, ownership of the resort changed, and unfortunately, the Bacara Ranch Hike is no longer available.
